Genuine Autograph with COA. Description/Provenance : This autograph comes from a small autograph book owned by someone called Freddie who worked in the MGM UK catering department during the 1950/60s. I bought it from an estate sale approximately 3 years ago together with a much larger autograph book. Both books included many famous people. Such as Sean Connery, Boris Karloff, Bette Davis, Jack Lemmon, Gary Cooper, Lana Turner etc, they also came with 3 sheets of paper which listed the names included in each book. Recently I was looking through the smaller book and noticed a name that was not on the list. I had not noticed it before but I had recently watched the Tarantino film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and recognised it as being Sharon Tate. After comparing other authenticated examples online I have no doubt this is a genuine Sharon Tate signature. There is a small difference in how’Tate” is signed but I put that down to the size of the page which is very small (3″ x 2 1/4) compared to the average autograph book which would make signing it quite difficult. The autograph is written in pencil. Sharon Tate made 2 films in the UK during the mid 1960’s the most famous being “The Fearless Vampire Killers” at MGM studios Borehamwood which is probably when the autograph was written. The larger autograph book also includes “Alfie Bass” who was also starring in the film which also makes me believe this was the case. I know the autograph book this signature comes from is 100% genuine and the fact that the autograph was not listed among the many famous names means the person who put it in the estate sale did not recognise or value it. This was true for a number of other signatures which I had to identify myself. I have included pictures of the book it came from as well as a list of the stars it contains as well as pictures of the accompanying larger autograpoh book. Size: 3″ x 2 1/4″.
